A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT - 1/13/09
2008 was a great year for AVS. We had some fun events that
included our St Joseph’s Table, a homemade wine tasting night,
the Club picnic, an Italian film night and our annual winemaking at
Arrington Vineyard. We closed out the year with a fantastic
Christmas Party that featured a live dance band, a wonderful
traditional Italian dinner, a beautiful Italian gift for all who
attended and a dance lesson in the Tarantella!
We also had strong membership growth in 2008 and look forward
to welcoming many more new members into our family in 2009.
We explored some interesting avenues to promote our Italian
heritage and traditions and hope to develop some of these ideas
in 2009. As our family grows, the interest in preserving tradition
and promoting all things Italian also grows, especially among our
younger members. I am looking forward to utilizing the energy
and excitement of all our members to expand the scope of our
activities in 2009.
We are a social club and meet from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm the 2nd
Wednesday of each month at Savarino’s Cucina at 2121 Belcourt
Ave in Nashville. Of course our monthly meetings start only after
we share a fantastic meal comprised of the savory dishes each of
our members bring to share. What better way to start off a night
than by eating!! Of course, it goes without saying, that dinner is
complemented by story telling and socializing followed by a short
club agenda. If you would like to attend a meeting please contact
